Privacy policy

Updated 11 October 2026

The short version. If you ask for a quote, we pass your enquiry to one qualified local fire risk assessor, who will contact you. No one else gets your details. If you use our fire safety checker and ask for your report, we email it to you and only send reminders if you tick the box. We never sell your details to marketing lists.

Who we are

Nottingham Fire Assessments is a trading name of Andre Douglas, a sole trader. We are the data controller for the personal information collected on this website.

Contact: info@nottinghamfireassessments.co.uk, or write to Unit 20, 6th Floor, City Gate East, Toll House Hill, Nottingham NG1 5FS.

We are an enquiry service. We do not carry out fire risk assessments ourselves. We put you in touch with a qualified local assessor who does.

Who we share it with

  • One local fire risk assessor, only when you ask for a quote. They receive your enquiry so they can contact you, and they become responsible for your information once they have it. Checker report requests are not passed to an assessor unless you also ask for a quote.
  • Service providers who run the site for us: our web host, our customer database and messaging system (used to store enquiries and send confirmation texts and emails), our email provider, and Google Analytics. They only process your information on our instructions.

We never sell or rent your details to marketing lists.

Some of these providers are based in the United States. Where your information is transferred outside the UK, we rely on the safeguards the provider uses, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

How long we keep it

  • A backup copy of each enquiry made on this website is kept for 12 months, then deleted automatically.
  • Enquiry records in our customer database are kept for up to 24 months after we last heard from you, then deleted.
  • Reminder emails stop as soon as you unsubscribe, and we then delete your reminder details.
  • Google Analytics data is kept for the period set in Google Analytics, at most 14 months.

Your rights

You can ask us to:

  • tell you what information we hold about you and send you a copy
  • correct it if it is wrong
  • delete it
  • stop using it, or object to how we use it
  • stop sending reminders (you can also use the unsubscribe link in any email)

Email info@nottinghamfireassessments.co.uk and we will reply within one month. If you have already been passed to an assessor, we will tell you who, so you can contact them as well.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would appreciate the chance to put it right first.

Cookies

We use Google Analytics cookies to count visits and see which pages are useful. The website also uses a small amount of browser storage to remember which page first brought you to the site, so we can see which pages lead to enquiries. This stays on your device for up to 30 days. You can clear cookies and site data in your browser settings at any time.

Changes

If we change how we use your information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
